MOSCOW, Feb 8 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK) plans to invest more than 500 million rubles in production of smokeless fuel in 2018, CEO Vladimir Rashevsky told President Vladimir Putin late on Wednesday.
“We have been doing scientific research in the sphere of coal chemistry for several years, and developed an innovative product – brown-coal half-coke…We sell it, we test the market right now, and we have already launched its production…We will invest more than half a billion rubles in it this year so that we are able to produce a large amount of the product in one or two years that will cover the majority of furnace heating capacities in Krasnoyarsk,” he said.
The new product is completely smokeless and its energy value is twice as high as the value of ordinary coal, he added.
